    Assessing and Strengthening the Manufacturing and Defense Industrial Base and Supply Chain Resiliency of the United States September 2018

    On July 21, 2017, President Donald J. Trump signed Executive Order (EO) 13806 on Assessing and Strengthening the Manufacturing and Defense Industrial Base and Supply Chain Resiliency of the United States.

    The EO directs the Secretary of Defense to conduct a whole-of-government effort to assess risk, identify impacts, and propose recommendations in support of a healthy manufacturing and defense industrial base – a critical aspect of economic and national security.

    The National Cyber Summit conducts a Cyber Cup Challenge each year on show floor at the Von Braun Center, South Hall.  The challenge brings in students and professionals interested in the field of cybersecurity to test their skills and have an opportunity to win cash prizes.

    The FBI is working with state agencies to build a multi-million dollar computer forensics lab at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville. The lab will be the first of its kind in the southeast.

    A new lab specializing in digital forensics will break ground in Huntsville. This will be the only lab of its kind on a military installation.

    Huntsville will be home to a new state magnet school in 2020. Alabama legislators passed a bill to green light the build of the school, which will be the third of its kind. The school will begin with 10th and 11th graders and eventually expand to 7th-12th grade.

    Cyber Huntsville is working with the U.S. Space & Rocket Center and the University of Alabama in Huntsville to develop a U.S. Cyber Camp for high school students.
