Topic: Quantum sensing and communications technologies, and their impact on cyber
Jason Schaake has been working in quantum optics since 1999. He received his BS and MS from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville and completed his PhD research with the Quantum Optics team, which grew into the Quantum Information Science section at Oak Ridge National Lab while attending the University of Tennessee from 2008 to 2017. He joined Leidos, as the Chief Quantum Communications Scientist for the Deep CEMA program, bringing quantum technologies to the Army. His areas of interest include quantum optics, quantum information science, quantum sensing, quantum communications, quantum education and workforce development. His main areas of research have focused on single-photon sources, entangled light generation, metrology, low light imaging, and detectors.
