Topic: Who's the Boss? You or the Bot?
Security, Oversight, and Accountability in AI-Assisted Development
Overview: Artificial intelligence is changing how we develop software, but just because AI can do something doesn't mean we should blindly let it. Through a live demonstration of AI-assisted desktop application development using OpenAI Codex and the Model Context Protocol (MCP), we'll explore the opportunities and security considerations that come with giving AI the ability to write code, execute commands, make decisions, and interact with development environments.
The discussion will focus on maintaining human oversight, understanding your codebase, managing permissions, and recognizing the risks of granting AI excessive autonomy. After all, AI may be doing the work, but you're still the boss; and ultimately responsible for the results.
