Speaker: Eric Smithmier
Eric Smithmier is a senior cybersecurity executive with over 23 years of leadership at the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). He is an expert in bridging the gap between national security intelligence and corporate risk management. Eric specializes in building global partnerships, leading complex cyber operations, and designing resilience strategies that protect critical infrastructure from state-sponsored and criminal threats. Eric directed the FBI’s Global Partnerships Program, aligning international engagement across the Cyber Division. He is a former Assistant Legal Attaché (London), coordinating cyber national security with UK Intelligence Partners. Eric has led the Houston Cyber Task Force and the Threat Analytics Collaboration Unit's (TACU) Global Threat Intelligence Project (GTIP). He has deep expertise in uniting government resources with private sector agility to mitigate enterprise risk.

The Huntsville Critical Infrastructure Cybersecurity Symposium is a premiere forum designed specifically for Defense Industrial Base partners, personnel in the private sector, state and local government, and agencies supporting critical infrastructure protection. This year's symposium features interactive briefings, panel discussions, and technical demonstrations led by cybersecurity professionals from the DoD Cyber Crime Center (DC3), the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA), the National Defense Cyber Alliance (NDCA), other U.S. government organizations, regional professional nonprofit organizations, and industry leaders operating in the Huntsville area.
